    What materials do we process?

Nowadays, the possibilities for machining are extensive. Nowadays, a wide variety of materials are machined through the use of CNC machines in service and production companies.

Different types of metals are one of the many possibilities.

At our company DWJ Toolroom CNC machining is most often carried out on:

    • cast irons,
    • alloyed and unalloyed steels,
    • non-ferrous metals (non-ferrous metals),
    • plastics
    • composites,

Our company takes an individual approach to each customer and it will be difficult to find materials that we will not undertake to process on our CNC machines.

    CNC machining

Also known as chip machining. It involves the removal of surplus material from the work piece in the form of a chip. Thanks to this process, we are able to produce parts with complex shapes while maintaining the necessary accuracy and surface roughness. CNC machining is a type of cavity machining. It can be divided into two types: chip machining and abrasive machining.

    Chip machining

It involves the removal of excess material with specialised cutting tools of different geometries. The machining performed in this way is carried out on machine tools.

Chip machining can be carried out by:

    • milling – for shaping planes and curved surfaces
    • turning – for machining of external and internal rotating/cylindrical surfaces
    • boring – for internal surface work
    • drilling – for making holes
    • reaming – finishing of cylindrical holes
    • boring – enlarging cylindrical holes
    • broaching and pushing – finishing of non-cylindrical holes
    • Planing and chiselling – working with reciprocating motion tools

    Types of chip processing:

    • coarse
    • medium
    • fine
    • very fine

    Abrasive machining

The cutting tool is made up of loose abrasive grains either in the form of paste, disc, whetstone, paper or abrasive cloth. Excess material is removed in the form of fine chips and particles pulled out by frictional force. It is usually characterised by a very small depth of cut.
